RELEASING THE PASCHAL POWER OF THE CROSS

A Lenten Mission/Retreat on the Great Triduum and the Joy of the Cross

Archbishop Emeritus Sylvain Lavoie OMI

For many, the power of the Lenten season has faded. This three-evening mission/retreat will help us experience Lent as a spiritual journey to the new life of Easter by exploring the deeper meaning of this great Paschal Mystery or Triduum in the light of the suffering we have all experienced as part of life. With the help of keynote presentations, scripture, biblical art, music, singing, stories, humor and ritual, this retreat will help participants recover the vibrant dynamism of our faith in Jesus as Crucified Messiah and Risen Lord. Expect an informative, formative and transformative experience.

Archbishop Emeritus Sylvain Lavoie, of the Archdiocese of Keewatin-The Pas, is a missionary Oblate who has spent over 40 years ministering among the Indigenous peoples of north-central Canada.  His ministry includes conducting workshops, missions and retreats on spirituality, addictions awareness, faith renewal, healing and Indigenous ministry.  Past chair of committees on Indigenous ministry for both the Oblates and the Western Canadian bishops, he presently serves as chaplain and spiritual director at the Star of the North Retreat Centre in St. Albert, Alberta. He has authored five books: Drumming From Within, Together We Heal, Walk A New Path, Still Green and Growing and the recently published Claiming God’s Love.
