VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

All volunteers, both new and current, in the Archdiocese of Edmonton are required to fill out a new volunteer information form available on the bulletin board across from the office or online by clicking HERE Volunteers are responsible to ensure their criminal records check is up to date. In our Archdiocese, they expire after four years. Contact the office today to see if yours needs to be renewed and if necessary, to pick up a letter confirming you are a volunteer, to bring to the RCMP detachment. The service is free for volunteers. All volunteers must also take a minimum of three online courses through Praesidium Academy. A link will be sent to your email from Praesidium Academy after you turn in the new volunteer information form. If you don’t see the email, check your junk folder. The courses take between 30 and 45 minutes to complete and can be done at your convenience. The online courses teach volunteers how to identify potential abuse situations, and how to prevent and report occurrences. Praesidium Academy online courses replace the Called to Protect training used in the past and must be completed by all volunteers, both new and current.
